Gas Void Monitoring and Controlling System

GVMCS is under development for measuring the gas void accumulating in the pipe.

NRC Generic Letter 2008-01 addressed a need for licensees to manage gas accumulation in emergency core cooling, decay heat removal, and containment spray systems to prevent hammering, cavitation, and fluid-induced vibration of piping system.

The NRC points out a need for countinuous monitoring to detect and quantify the gas voids in the pipes to ensure its safety.
